On the night of Tuesday, April 25, an earthquake occurred in Indonesia. Earthquakes were recorded near the island of Sumatra.

This was reported by Reuters with reference to the Indonesian Geophysical Agency.

The magnitude of the earthquake was 7.3 points (according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center – 6.9 points). Residents were warned of the possibility of a tsunami and urged to urgently evacuate away from the ocean.

The tremors occurred at a depth of 84 kilometers at approximately 03:00 am local time. Subsequently, several aftershocks occurred, the magnitude of one of them reached 5.

There is currently no information on casualties and damage. Local authorities collect relevant data.

It will be recalled that a few days ago Indonesia was shaken by two powerful earthquakes. They happened two hours apart.
